Color me Orange!

Thanksgiving has finally come and gone, but yet, I still find myself yearning for the lovely orange hues of fall and pumpkin pie (which they had none at my family get together; I was quite upset). And I think we all should understand that pumpkin pie is my favourite thing to eat on holidays. It has been since I was a kid. There has not been one holiday since I was eight that I have skipped eating pumpkin pie.

So in honour of the season, I did a quick link round-up.

Color Me in Patterns.

After doing a little early morning research over a bowl of cereal I have come to the conclusion that our current patterns fad is not going anywhere any time soon. In fact, it’s only evolving and taking over all designers Fall 2012 lines. I have also found boxy suit coats that seem to be somewhere between a bag lady (with knit shawls over them), Mary Poppins, and menswear can be seen in Marc Jacobs, Chanel, and Miu Miu this season. So for all of you back-to-school shoppers like myself, here are a few looks to experiment with:

Versace Fall 2012 (taken from dfashionidea.com)

Versace as well as have fitted jackets, a plethora of the basic black, and their own logo used as a pattern for multiple dresses, Versace went down a gothic path compared to other designers this season.

Stunningly gorgeous pant suits, dresses made from discs, statement shoes (look at the centre picture), and that make-up! If you look closely in the picture on the right you’ll notice the Mary Poppins medicine bag. I remember when I was younger, around six or seven, when I desperately wanted one of those bags if I was going to be able to put as much as I wanted into it and fit my entire arm inside to grab things such as golf clubs.

Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 (taken from blog.myfdb.com)

Marc Jacobs collection is my personal favourite currently with it’s whimsical yet dark feel. The large fur/velvet Mad Hatter-esque hats remind me of my all-time favourite movie, Alice in Wonderland. And the bejeweled buckle on those boots? Bravo, Mr.Jacobs, bravo.
